The Universal Thump is a band led by Greta Gertler Gold & Adam D Gold.
They have performed extensively, presenting a range of live musical experiences - from intimate duo drum/piano-vocal gigs to orchestral pop ensembles ('whale of sound') - throughout the USA, Australia and Europe. Their 2016 single SEDER-MASOCHISTIC (featuring Lauren Molina) has had over 3 million views on Youtube to date.
In 2015, they released their 'Walking the Cat' EP, which they recorded at Abbey Road Studios (London). They produced a benefit concert performance of George Harrison's 'All Things Must Pass' for its 40th Anniversary at The Bell House, Brooklyn, and are the founders of the annual, Passover-inspired variety show The Seder-Songwriter Project at Joe's Pub. They have performed with Shara Worden (My Brightest Diamond), Missy Higgins, Glenn Tilbrook (Squeeze), Joan As Policewoman, Rozz Nash-Coulon, Martha Wainwright, Rick Moody and others. Greta also sang on Sufjan Stevens' 'All Delighted People' EP.
